Brief History

An Iconic Atal Bridge is constructed between Ellis Bridge and Sardar Bridge. It has eased and improved the pedestrian connectivity between the East and West side of the Riverfront.

It has connected the core City in the East with the further developed city in the West and created an equilibrium and balancing in terms of City planning. It celebrates the importance of the Pedestrians.

The Bridge is unique in its design – both technically and visually. It is not just a pathway across the Sabarmati River but has become a destination in itself. Not only the People of
Ahmedabad but People across the State and Country like to visit and spend time on the bridge amidst Riverine nature.

This Iconic Bridge development has augmented the status of the Riverfront as well as of the Ahmedabad City and has become an Engineering marvel.

The Bridge will provide connectivity to Multi Level Car Parking and various public developments on the East and West Bank from the plaza between Flower Park and Event Ground at West Bank to the proposed Art / Cultural / Exhibition Centre on the East Bank.

The bridge is approachable from both Lower and Upper Promenade. The bridge has provided a picturesque view and has food kiosks (2 nos.), seating cum planters (14 nos.),transparent glass floor (4 nos. of 24 Sq.mt.), Kinetic Structure for Selfies and various other recreational facilities.

4. Design: Weight of Structural Steel 2600 MT., RCC Pile foundation, Spherical Bearings at supports and Tensile Fabric Roofing.
5. Seating, Plantation and Food kiosks in the Middle span.
6. Dynamic color changing LED Lights.
7.  F & B Kiosks, Sit outs with Planters at the center of the bridge.
8. Recreational facility in the middle of the River Body where citizens can enjoy nature with peace and tranquility.

By Road

Atal Bridge is well connected with major cities of Gujarat state such as Gandhinagar (27.6 km), Rajkot (106.0 km) and Vadodara (111.7 Km) through a road network. State transport buses and private buses are a great option to travel from other towns of the state to Ahmedabad.
